Garnier Skin Naturals White Complete Eye Roll-On: Review

My eyes have always been kinda puffy. And long late hours of staring at the computer at work hasn't helped at all. After reading mixed reviews of this roll-on, I thought at the price it was worth a shot.

What's on the Box: Eye puffiness and tiredness can make your eyes look dull. Garnier White Complete Eye Roll-On is a massaging roll-on that combines caffeine and the draining effect of a massage to reduce puffiness and brightens eye contour.
Massaging is a technique used by experts to boost natural draining and decongest tired eyes. The formula, enriched with caffeine, known for its stimulating properties on micro-circulation, helps to brighten the skin and boost radiance.

The proven power of Caffeine: An energizing and anti-tiredness ingredient, Caffeine is also well known for its stimulating properties on micro-circulation. The formula is enriched with pro-vitamin B5 for its hydrating properties.

Garnier products have never worked for me so far. But for some reason, I keep giving them a chance. Though Garnier put very promising claims on the box, I found that it (yet again) didn't live up to most of its claims. Let's see where it fell short:

Starting with the good stuff:

  • The pen packaging is extremely convenient to carry. It's also very hygienic compared to the tub packages most under eye creams come in.
  • Very affordable compared to most under eye creams in the market.
  • I've been using it quite regularly for the past 2.5 months. And it still doesn't show signs of getting over. So it's long lasting too (for the price).
  • The metal ball provides an instant cooling effect when used on the eyes (Metal + Liquid. You do the math).
  • Garnier didn't lie about the roll-on being fragrance free. It's also colourless.
  • Contains some enticing stuff - caffeine, pro-vitamin B5.
  • It's tested for safe use on the skin and near the eyes.

And why it failed for me:
  • It's a hassle to get the product out. Gravity doesn't help either. I have to keep shaking the pen to get it out.
  • Doesn't brighten the eyes or depuff them. Not in the short or long run. I haven't noticed any radiance either. I have no idea where Garnier got its statistics from.
  • I love how Garnier claims to use natural ingredients wherever possible. How is the common customer to know where it's possible and where it isn't? And the parabens aren't very reassuring either.
All in all, it just doesn't work. Plain and simple.

My Verdict: 1.5/10 (for the extremely temporary cooling effect)

Will I repurchase it? The affordability and convenient packaging is all great. But it has absolutely no relevance when the end product doesn't work at all. So I won't be buying this again. Ever. I recommend that you don't either.
