The Reason for my Shopping Ban

I think the picture is pretty self explanatory. I spotted this strategically placed shop bang next to the train station on the way home from work. A little piece of heaven. I'd been eyeing it for a while but never really went in. I finally gave in to my urges and decided to check it out. I went a little crazy. Especially their makeup brushes. I made 2 consecutive visits to the shop. I bought the brushes, masque and under eye cream the first time around.

ColorBar Picture Perfect Foundation Brush ~ Rs. 475

Vega Anguar Brush ~ Rs. 70 Vega Set of 6 Makeup Brushes (Blush Brush, Lip Liner Brush, Eye Groomer - Lash+Brow Brush, Lip Filler Brush, Eye Applicator Brush, Eye Shadow Brush) ~ Rs. 325
Faces Eyelash Curler ~ Rs. 169
ColorBar Make Your Point Duo Cosmetic Pencil Sharpener ~ Rs. 225
L'oréal Paris Professional Absolut Repair Cellular Masque ~ Rs. 600 for 200 g
VLCC Almond Under Eye Cream ~ Rs. 190 for 15 g

I was so happy with my first set of purchases, I went back for some more the very next day ~

Black Bag ~ Rs. 1150
ColorBar Lash Illusion Mascara Duo ~ Rs. 399 for 8 ml (4 ml Lengthening + 4 ml Volumising)
Maybelline Lip Smooth Color Bloom Color Changing Lip Balm (Peach Blossom) ~ Rs. 125 for 1.7 g
Clean & Clear Foaming Facial Wash ~ Rs. 49 for 50 ml
Clean & Clear Morning Energy Face Wash Energizing Lemon ~ Rs. 55 for 50 ml

For some, this is nowhere remotely close to a haul. A decent MAC product costs at least a 1000 these days. So spending close to 4000 would be nothing. But for my current stipend, it's a lot. It's precisely why I'm always on the lookout for affordable products (Sometimes I feel my blog should have been called Beauty on a Budget. It has a nice ring to it.).  I have perfect explanations for all of my purchases. I needed all those products. The bag I'd been using was an absolute disgrace. The brushes - I needed them too. The eyelash curler - I've always wanted one. Imagine being a beauty blogger without an eyelash curler! It's downright embarrassing! The masque - It's an essential for my damaged hair. My hair tends to get so dry after washes. The kajal sharpener - well this is something everyone will understand. The under eye cream too. The face washes I didn't really need, but I read amazing things about C&C's morning energy scrub on Indian Vanity Case (one of my favourite blogs) and this one seemed similar. Plus after my previous C&C post, I thought I should give the brand another shot. Without too many expectations this time. The lip balm? Well I've been a little obsessed with lip balms lately; especially those with SPF. But this is the last one, I swear. For now :P And the Mascara? Well, I love mascaras. And this one has 2 brushes - one for length and the other for volume. Seemed like a steal at Rs. 399.

All said and done, the ban is officially on. I need one, considering that I haven't experienced a shred of guilt considering that the purchases were completely unplanned. And also considering that I shamelessly made another list of things I wanted to buy after buying these :P Instead, all I have experienced is pure, unadulterated happiness. Which I'll allow myself considering it's women's week and all (Belated Happy Women's Day ladies!). But no more purchases (except for absolute essentials) for the next few months for me. Don't worry, I've got plenty of reviews already lined up for those months. So until next time :)

    1. I read a bunch of reviews saying the same. I haven't started using it yet. I'm still trying to complete my Garnier Eye Roll On. I know if I start using the VLCC cream, the Garnier Roll On will fly out the window (seeing as it didn't work for me at all!). Can't wait to start using the VLCC cream! ^_^

Do post little notes. They make my day! : )
